Wild Ride....

Wow, I have really taken some time off from writing! Usually writing brings me solace, but losing Boss truly rocked me to the core. Nothing has felt right. I tried to keep baking, but would find myself laughing and crying at the same time, and then I would get super flustered and frustrated. One day, I was making dough and something triggered the waterworks- and I lost track of how much sugar I had put in the bowl. I literally had to go to our security camera footage and watch to see how many times I had walked back and forth from the sugar cabinet. So let’s just say everything has taken a little longer lately!

But, as is usually the case, the worst brought out the best. The love and support so many people have shown our family has left me speechless. And while it will be a while until I write all my thank you notes, please know that the outpouring of love has truly sustained me!

And I apologize for not taking any additional special orders for a few weeks. Between my mental state, teacher appreciation week and Izzy’s upcoming graduation, I have felt pretty stretched! Luckily these are fun positive things to focus on that have helped me keep perspective! We head to Boston later this week, hence why I am not baking this week! I might take the following week off just to have time to help move Izzy back to Va! But my plan is to bake here and there and offer some flash items…I will send an email as well as post to Instagram when I do have items available!

And I try not to be a braggy mom, but I am so freaking proud of Izzy. So many people told her that swimming at an ACC school and studying nursing was impossible. Some schools would not even consider her for the team if she planned to study nursing. She worked really hard all 4 years at Boston College, and honestly, the brutal weather alone would have broken me!!!! She met some amazing people (Shout out to the girls of Ruby D34 ), learned so much about herself and received an amazing education. She also learned that life is not always fair- but that taking the high road is usually the best path! And more so than anything, she gained the confidence to be the best freaking nurse! I am so excited to watch her career unfold…..

I will attach a few of my favorites from her graduation pictures with her girl friends. A beautiful campus and beautiful girls, inside and out! Very excited to celebrate all of them next weekend!

Sorry for the erratic baking schedule. We will settle into a summer schedule in the next few weeks!! And to all the moms out there- I hope today is relaxing and your kids shower you with love and attention. Maybe my next blog entry will be about how Boeden apparently doesn’t celebrate Mother’s Day…..thankfully his siblings pick up the slack!

Xo,

Heather
